Plunger & Figlio SpA in the province of Bolzano, was founded in 1942 by Mr. Luigi Plunger, father and grandfather of the current owners.

Three generations have followed the company’s leadership and knowledge and love for wood have been handed down. Wood is the life of the company: “Wood is our speciality – they say in the company – and we have dedicated ourselves to it for over 60 years with commitment and passion.”

This long experience has allowed the company to accumulate a deep knowledge of the material and its possible uses. It’s also given the company a good perspective on the best way to handle their products, working with Baumann for several years.

“We have got to know the team here very well,” says Baumann’s  Andrea Zuliani. “They want a machine that can cover the ground, as you can see, it’s a large area but it is surrounded on all sides. They want to make the most of the space they have, and that means having a compact machine that’s capable of handling the terrain.”

Nestled in the Eisack Valley, the location is strategically important, but puts space at a premium. The Isarco River at one time powered machinery used in the timber processing, whilst a highway and railway line are also nearby.

L. Plunger & Figlio SpA has been able to combine a long experience in the field of traditional processing, a constant technological updating that has led the company to a position of prestige in the field of wood.

This long experience has allowed the company to accumulate a deep knowledge of the material and its possible uses.

Over the years, L. Plunger & Figlio SpA has specialized in the manufacture and marketing of fir.

Since 1995, the company has also specialized in the production of tailor-made wooden roofs and packaging of various sizes of trusses.
